ROLE PURPOSE

 

Our Strategic Business Managers (SBMs) manage and grow Winc's most critical and strategic customer partnerships. Responsible for a portfolio of high-value national accounts, they build executive-level relationships, drive retention, grow share of wallet, and deliver sustainable revenue growth. They also identify and secure new business opportunities. 

Working closely with key stakeholders across customer organisations, SBMs develop and execute long-term account strategies aligned to clients' business objectives. Success in this role requires strong commercial acumen, consultative selling skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and create lasting customer value.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Develop and execute 2–3 year strategic account plans aligned to customer objectives, ensuring long-term growth, retention, and contract success.
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner and primary escalation point for key customer stakeholders.
  • Lead contract management, commercial negotiations, and account reviews to maximise customer value and business outcomes.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Sales, Category, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and specialist teams to deliver tailored customer solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer strategies, challenges, and opportunities, leveraging Winc's capabilities to drive growth.
  • Proactively resolve customer issues and manage risks to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity, implementing strategies to protect and grow Winc's position within key accounts.
  • Prepare and present strategic business reviews, performance reports, and growth plans to both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within existing and target accounts to increase revenue and share of wallet.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Winc's products, services, and value proposition to effectively position solutions and strengthen customer partnerships.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Sales, or a related discipline, providing a strong commercial and analytical foundation.
  • 4–5+ years’ experience in Business-to-Business sales management and key account management, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing high-value client portfolios, and delivering against commercial targets.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients and senior stakeholders across multiple levels, influencing outcomes and strengthening long-term partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions, manage complex discussions, and secure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Strong customer-centric mindset, consistently delivering high-quality service, anticipating client needs, and ensuring an exceptional end-to-end customer experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing competing demands while optimising available resources to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
