ROLE PURPOSE

 

The Supply Planner is responsible for managing the planning, purchasing, and replenishment of inventory to optimise product availability, inventory investment, and service levels. Managing an assigned portfolio of suppliers, the role ensures stock is replenished efficiently and supply issues are proactively addressed to support business requirements.

 

Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, the Supply Planner delivers exceptional service through effective inventory management, timely purchasing activities, and the proactive resolution of supply chain risks, helping ensure products are available when and where customers need them.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Manage purchase orders throughout the lifecycle, including creation, maintenance, expediting, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor inventory performance, ensuring optimal availability, stock cover, and replenishment outcomes.
  • Review overdue orders, supply alerts, and service level reports, taking corrective action to mitigate risks.
  • Develop replenishment plans and support inventory optimisation through effective supply planning practices.
  • Manage stock transfers (STOs), return-to-vendor (RTV) processes, and Distribution Centre receiving queries.
  • Identify and escalate supply chain risks, inventory issues, and supplier performance concerns in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, Category Managers, Distribution Centres, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve issues and maintain continuity of supply.
  • Respond to internal and customer enquiries relating to stock availability, replenishment, and supply issues.
  • Support invoice dispute resolution and supplier account management to prevent supply interruptions.
  • Deliver reporting, process improvements, and ad hoc support to achieve purchasing and broader supply chain objectives.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate to resolve supply chain challenges and drive outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience using SAP ERP or similar enterprise planning systems.2 to 5 years' experience in Supply Chain, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and service levels.
