ROLE PURPOSE

 

The primary purpose of the Master Data Analyst is to identify, analyse, design, implement and launch Winc's data initiatives, and ensure data-related considerations are factored into broader business activities.
 

As a member of our Project Management Office (PMO) team, a "typical" day for this role would likely include:
 

  • Leading a workshop to understand data led issues and to design the solution
  • Building a report that outlines the extent of our data issues
  • Setting up a report and alert system that directs a team to better manage their data
  • Complete an analysis of dirty data and enrich the data using any means you can find
  • Hold key stakeholders accountable to their task list at a project meeting
  • Lead a team through UAT, training and comms to ensure the successful launch of new features and governance

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Rethink how data should be input/structured to meet business needs
  • Conduct detailed analysis to inform and direct initiatives 
  • Find ways to enrich inaccurate/missing data. Complete bulk data updates or lead others as needed
  • Redesign and implement the master data processes / governance
  • Set up automations, alerts and complete other key tasks to support data management
  • Set up dashboards, reports and insights for tracking and post project reviews
  • Lead others as needed to meet our objectives. This may include presenting solutions, directing others at project meetings, leading UAT etc
  • Hands on role to complete the tasks required to complete projects, including  technical tasks such as data modelling, data extraction and transformation (ETL), data visualisation development

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

  • 5+ years working as a Data Analyst or similar role. 
  • Hands on experience in a lead role in projects, or high exposure to project management
  • Technical skills – Proficiency in data warehousing, data modelling, SQL, data visualisation platforms 
  • Analytics systems experience – Databricks, MSSQL, SAP HANA, Tableau, Advanced Excel
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (with a wide range of stakeholders)
  • High standards of documentation, including data insights and summaries, project and test plans, process documents, training and change documents etc
  • Strong business acumen with a keen ability to understand how data can be leveraged to achieve business outcomes. 
  • A “get it done” attitude
  • Programming: Python, ETL, API experience, JSON
  • Excel VBA & PowerQuery
  • Experience working with: STIBO, SAP, Salesforce, Genesys Cloud
  • Understanding of key Data Management Knowledge areas, CDMP certification will be highly regarded
