ROLE PURPOSE

 

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a junior lawyer to join our award-winning and highly respected Legal and Corporate group. As Legal Counsel, reporting directly to our General Counsel & Company Secretary, you will provide fast, accurate, and commercially focused legal support and advice to the business, with a particular emphasis on supporting our large sales and procurement teams across Australia and New Zealand.
 

As one of Winc’s corporate lawyers based at our Sydney head office, you will have daily exposure to senior business leaders across Australia and New Zealand and work closely with them as their trusted adviser on key transactions, contracts, and strategic initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Providing commercially focused legal advice on a range of buy- and sell-side commercial contracts
  • Drafting commercial agreements, including sales agreements, procurement agreements, and supply contracts
  • Advising on general legal and operational matters, including compliance with Australian Consumer Law
  • Liaising with external law firms and legal service providers
  • Monitoring legislative changes that may impact the company
  • Assisting with legal compliance, training, and reporting

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

  • You will need to be admitted to practice as a Solicitor in New South Wales with 1 to 2 years post admission commercial experience gained at a leading law firm or corporate legal team
  • Impressive commercial legal skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business are a must
  • A strong commercial aptitude and the ability to recognise and quickly respond to the commercial needs of the business and our customers will help you succeed in this role
