ROLE PURPOSE

 

The Head of Infrastructure and Operations is a key role that ensures the secure and reliable operation of all technology systems, ongoing strategic development of IT Infrastructure capabilities, adoption of new technologies, provisioning and delivering of great end-user services. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Strategy & Roadmap – Develop and implement a strategic IT infrastructure plan, ensuring alignment with business needs. Optimize platforms, security, and operational efficiency while leveraging new technologies and vendor services.
  2. Reliable & Cost-Effective IT – Maintain a stable, flexible, and cost-efficient IT environment. Oversee infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, disaster recovery, and asset lifecycle management to meet business SLAs and optimize total cost of ownership.

  3. Security & Compliance – Safeguard IT systems from internal and external threats through proactive monitoring, patching, and incident response. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including PCI-DSS and PII legislation.

  4. End-User Productivity – Equip employees with high-quality devices, peripherals, and productivity applications, ensuring seamless access, connectivity, and usability to maximize efficiency.

  5. Service & Incident Management – Implement ITIL best practices to optimize IT service delivery, incident resolution, and communication. Provide on-site technology support in key locations to ensure smooth operations.

  6. Technology Innovation – Foster a culture of digital adoption and continuous improvement. Engage with stakeholders to enhance user experience and drive efficiency through innovative technology solutions.

  7. Vendor & Partner Management – Maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors to ensure optimal service delivery and leverage external expertise for ongoing innovation and business growth.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

  • Experience in IT infrastructure design and operations, particularly in a cloud based environment utilising servers, storage, databases, networks, communications, printing, security, end-user device management   
  • Experience in IT operations including service desk management, problem and incident management, change management, continuous improvement 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior IT management role 
  • High level of service orientation and stakeholder management 
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and consistency 
  • Knowledge of ITIL methodology 
  • Experience with common management tools and infrastructure technologies 
  • Advanced skills in problem identification and resolution management
