ROLE PURPOSE

We’re seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise the data foundations that drive smarter commercial strategies and sharper business decisions.

In this role, you’ll work across a modern Azure Databricks + SQL on-prem hybrid stack, developing scalable pipelines, safeguarding data integrity, and unlocking advanced analytics capabilities. It’s an ideal opportunity for a proactive engineer who thrives at the intersection of data, analytics, and business strategy - someone motivated by solving real commercial challenges, not just moving data from A to B.

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge Databricks and other similar infrastructure shaping the future of commercial analytics.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, commercial analysts, and leadership teams to drive strategic impact.
  • Access to ongoing training, certifications, and career development pathways.
  • Join a data-first culture that values innovation, learning, and experimentation.
  • Make a tangible difference - your work directly influences business decisions, profitability, and revenue growth.
  • Work-life balance and hybrid working support.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Build, optimise, and maintain scalable data pipelines delivering clean, accurate master and transactional data.
  • Design and deploy modern data architectures supporting real-time commercial insights and analytics.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, IT, and other Commercial teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data availability, reliability, and performance across multiple environments.
  • Act as the technical SME for commercial datasets, driving innovation and automation.
  • Implement strong data governance, quality frameworks, and security standards across all platforms.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by integrating emerging tools, trends, and best practices into our data roadmap.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles.
  • Strong experience designing and managing ETL pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks + SQL on-prem environments (i.e. SSIS).
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, warehousing, and orchestration (Airflow, dbt, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with non-technical teams, and varying from executive to front-line data users.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience integrating data for revenue growth, customer portfolio, or product analytics use cases.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualisation tools.
  • Certifications in Azure Data Engineering, Databricks, or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Proven experience in Azure cloud data migration, including large-scale data transformations.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines or predictive forecasting models.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HANA or comparable systems for ERP data extraction.
