ROLE PURPOSE

 

Following an internal promotion, we are seeking a commercially minded and technically capable Commercial Sales Analyst to support data-led decision-making across our Sales and Commercial functions.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, improving reporting processes, and identifying actionable insights that drive business performance.

You will play an important role in enhancing sales analytics capability, including the opportunity to learn new and complex modelling methodologies and techniques.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


Commercial & Sales Performance

  • Maintain and enhance sales and commercial reporting.
  • Analyse revenue, margin and sales trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Support Sales leadership with data-driven insights and performance reporting.

Sales Analytics Modelling

  • Learn, develop and optimise data models using SQL and Python.
  • Assist in improving data quality, governance and documentation standards.
  • Contribute to the development of forecasting and scenario planning analysis.
  • Support the improvement and automation of budget allocation and incentive calculation tools.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with Sales, Finance and Operations teams to understand reporting and analysis needs.
  • Support weekly state-based commercial sales performance meetings.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Science, Economics, Statistics or related field.
  • +3 years’ experience in commercial analytics, sales analytics or similar.
  • Intermediate SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions).
  • Strong Excel skills (incl. PowerQuery)
  • Experience working with ERP or CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce).
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

  • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks (or similar) and visualisation tools such as Tableau/Power BI.
