ROLE PURPOSE
We are currently seeking an experienced Collections Officer to join our high-performing Accounts Receivable team and play a critical role in improving our business’s cash flow performance.
The Collections Officer (Accounts Receivable) is responsible for driving cash collection by partnering with internal stakeholders and building strong customer relationships. You will have a deep understanding of your ledger and will maintain customer aged debt within agreed targets by reconciling accounts and resolving disputes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Take ownership of a complex ledger and manage the reduction of aged debt through collection activities.
- Support the Accounts Receivable Manager with weekly operational reports.
- Lead ledger review sessions with the Accounts Receivable Manager and Sales Account Managers, as required.
- Support the coaching, training, and development of new Collections Officers within the team.
- Maintain structured and clear notes on collection activities (calls or emails), in line with procedures.
- Reduce aged debt in accordance with agreed targets.
- Escalate and liaise with internal departments regarding disputes on customer accounts.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable (AR) Collections Officer role.
- Proven track record in reducing aged debt.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to deliver quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and effective manner.
- Experience with SAP and CRM systems (e.g., Siebel, Salesforce) is a plus.
- Understanding of EDI integration and customer portals is preferred but not essential.
