ROLE PURPOSE

 

The AM Shift Manager at our National Distribution Centre in Erskine Park, NSW is responsible for leading end-to-end operations from receiving through to final dispatch. You will drive planning efficiency, lead Team Managers, Coordinators, and Team Leaders, and ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of all orders.

With a strong focus on performance, you will be accountable for key metrics including productivity, DIFOT, cost control, and safety. You’ll identify opportunities for continuous improvement, optimise labour and workflow, and build a high-performing team culture aligned to business goals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Plan and manage inbound, replenishment, and outbound operations in collaboration with Team Managers.
  • Deliver operations within budgeted labour costs across permanent and casual workforce.
  • Ensure high service levels aligned with customer expectations.
  • Drive change initiatives to improve productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain daily operational standards and oversee shift start/end activities.
  • Support cross-training across all shift functions.
  • Partner with the DC Operations Manager on continuous improvement initiatives and deputise as required.
  • Provide regular performance insights and trend analysis to DC leadership.
  • Foster a positive, high-performing team culture across operations.
  • Maintain site standards, cleanliness, and operational discipline.
  • Lead OH&S compliance, hazard management, and incident reporting, promoting a strong safety-first culture.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • Solid understanding of compliance, OH&S, and industrial relations legislation
  • Proven leadership experience in large-scale warehousing or logistics environments
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations and processes
  • Experience driving process improvement and change initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
