ROLE PURPOSE
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our semi-automated distribution facility in Erskine Park. Reporting to the site Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a range of machinery and equipment including packaging machinery, MHE, conveyor systems, and AMR pod systems in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be part of our PM shift with hours from 2 pm to 10 pm.
You’ll be a self-motivated problem solver who thrives working both independently and as part of a team. This role also supports plant improvement projects, operation of HMI-controlled machinery, and at times stepping up to lead the maintenance team. Your ability to prioritise maintenance tasks and keep operations running smoothly is important.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of machinery and equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime
- Fabricate and modify parts as needed to keep machinery running efficiently
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities
- Apply strong problem-solving and lateral-thinking skills to resolve issues and manage breakdowns calmly.
- Operate and maintain HMI-controlled machinery.
- Contribute to site improvement projects, and efficiency initiatives.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Step up to lead the maintenance team when required and prioritise competing maintenance tasks effectively and safely.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Essential
- Mechanical trade qualifications
- Strong pneumatic knowledge
- Experience with PLC and HMI operation
- Fabrication skills (MIG and Stick welding)
- Current forklift high-risk work licence
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
- Working at Heights training
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple breakdowns simultaneously
Desirable
- Current Australian First Aid certificate (including CPR)
- Fire Warden training
- Basic electrical knowledge of automated machinery
- Project management skills
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment as required
- Knowledge of dangerous goods and flammable liquids
