ROLE PURPOSE

 

We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our semi-automated distribution facility in Erskine Park. Reporting to the site Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a range of machinery and equipment including packaging machinery, MHE, conveyor systems, and AMR pod systems in a fast-paced environment.

 

You’ll be a self-motivated problem solver who thrives working both independently and as part of a team. This role also supports plant improvement projects, operation of HMI-controlled machinery, and at times stepping up to lead the maintenance team. Your ability to prioritise maintenance tasks and keep operations running smoothly is important.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of machinery and equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime
  • Fabricate and modify parts as needed to keep machinery running efficiently
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities
  • Apply strong problem-solving and lateral-thinking skills to resolve issues and manage breakdowns calmly.
  • Operate and maintain HMI-controlled machinery.
  • Contribute to site improvement projects, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Step up to lead the maintenance team when required and prioritise competing maintenance tasks effectively and safely.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

Essential

  • Mechanical trade qualifications
  • Strong pneumatic knowledge
  • Experience with PLC and HMI operation
  • Fabrication skills (MIG and Stick welding)
  • Current forklift high-risk work licence
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
  • Working at Heights training
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple breakdowns simultaneously

 

Desirable

  • Current Australian First Aid certificate (including CPR)
  • Fire Warden training
  • Basic electrical knowledge of automated machinery
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to operate various material handling equipment as required
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods and flammable liquids
