ROLE PURPOSE
We are seeking a Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) Manager to partner with the business to strengthen and embed safety capabilities across our people, systems, and processes, fostering a proactive safety culture at Winc.
This position primarily focuses on but not limited to safety policy for our supply chain warehousing function and is based at the Winc National Distribution Centre in Erskine Park. Reporting to the Head of HSW, this hands-on role will involve maintaining high HSW standards while driving continuous improvement and transformation across the organization.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Partner with the business so that our leaders and teams are committed and accountable to deliver great safety and wellbeing outcomes
- Provide Health and Safety functional expertise to the business using data and insights to identify and eliminate/manage key risks and high consequence processes across sites and address gaps
- Lead and coach the Winc leaders and teams on safe ways of working and best practice in HSW
- Partner with business to ensure that all Winc’s key tasks have a Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) in place, are accessible, reviewed and understood and become our way of working
- Build our peoples capability so that they know and understand our Winc safety frameworks, Life Saving rules, hazard and risk management, incident management and investigation, communication and escalation, supporting systems and tools, safe ways of working (SOP’s, One-page lessons & JSEAs), contractor management and risk review
- Lead serious incidents investigations with leaders ensuring that Winc is compliant with legislation (State and Federal) and that Winc’s interests are protected.
- Manage return to work and workers compensation claims management of injuries with the local team and provide advice and ensure plans are up to date and maintained with return-to-work coordinator’s
- Work with leaders to develop local site safety plans and track completion to reduce local risks
- Coach and develop the local site safety committee on identifying hazard, risks and key controls
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Experienced HSW leader with a background leading in a multisite, cross functional network in warehousing, logistics and office-based environments
- Great communication skills (verbal, written and oral) that contribute to engaging and coaching teams and effective senior stakeholder management (presentation, facilitation and coaching).
- Understanding of regulatory environment and advanced knowledge of the Work Health & Safety Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice (in each jurisdiction)
- Advanced practical knowledge of Hazard and Risk Management principles
- Ability to investigate incidents and hazards and make recommendation for preventative action
- Ability to identify safety issues and prepare a plan and mobilise teams to achieve goals
- Ability to conduct training needs analysis and prepare and deliver development initiatives to address needs
