ROLE PURPOSE

 

The NSW Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the safe and pro-active maintenance of our Erskine Park facilities, including a 40,000 sqm distribution centre and 3,000 sqm occupied as office accommodation.

 

This role ensures that all robotics mechanical, electrical, and structural aspects of the facility are maintained in optimal condition to support smooth and efficient operations. The manager will bring previous large distribution centre experience and lead a team to ensure the facility meets safety, regulatory, and operational standards.

 

This will include building close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • The safe conduct of all maintenance activities on site. 
  • Planning and managing building maintenance and operational programs (including preventative maintenance) for the distribution centre and office environment.
  • Drive on site Social Responsibility initiatives to reduce waste and emissions in the building. 
  • Providing guidance and advice on annual expenditure and budgets.
  • 5S improvement of maintenance activities and areas. Identification and implementation of cost reduction initiatives and efficiency-based projects
  • Liaising with landlords/managing agents.
  • Development of systems/procedures to ensure staff/contractors are complying with requirement.
  • Comply with relevant State and Federal legislation and regulations & work in partnership with our National Safety Manager.
  • Support (maintenance-related) elements of site safety programs and initiatives, helping management ensure compliance with WHS policies.
  • Contractor selection through running and evaluating tenders.
  • Ensuring all contracts are well executed, reviewed and in place & managing all vendor contracts.
  • Ensuring effective management of contractors on site including performance to plan and ensuring work is carried out to a high standard.
  • Development and submission of CAPEX requirements.
  • Reporting: including CAPEX vs plan, site maintenance spend vs Budget, key risks (including use of DoneSafe system), supplier / contractor performance.
  • Undertake general procurement activities including supplier management, reporting, tendering and negotiation.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

 

  • Experience in a maintenance position in the distribution centre/ warehouse environment is a must.
  • Strong contractor management.
  • Experience in developing and analysing engineering plans.
  • Experience with developing scope of works.
  • Ability to build, plan and manage high volume of schedule works.
  • General procurement and tender management experience.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft software products.
  • Experience in reviewing safety documentation and identifying gaps.
  • Ability to manage costs against approved budgets while gaining efficiencies with economies of scale.
